Earthshot Prize Docu-Series

Updated: Oct 22, 2021

Prince William and Sir David Attenborough are to host a documentary series about innovations that could help save the planet.

This time last year, Prince William and Sir David Attenborough launched a £50m ($67.5m) prize to inspire positive solutions to environmental problems, chiefly the climate crisis. It was announced that the Earthshot Prize would make five awards of £1m ($1.35m) each year to individuals and organisations whose innovations help repair the planet. With £50m awarded over 10 years, it's the biggest environmental prize ever.

Now comes the announcement that their new five-part series will feature finalists from the Earthshot Prize, and their ground-breaking solutions to our greatest environmental challenges - highlighting some of the most extraordinary practical projects that can be rolled out across the world.

The documentary - The Earthshot Prize: Repairing Our Planet - will be available on BBC iPlayer and Discovery+ from today. It will be premiering on 16 October on Discovery in U.S.

“We can create a different future, a better future,” the prince says in the show's trailer, below. “But only if we reach for it now.”
