Magnum has partnered with Aperture for its square print sale titled Youth. Capturing the electric charge of growing up, this is the public's opportunity to own one of these classic images. Youth is proclaimed to be about "a moment, a memory - a state of becoming. It’s the spark of firsts: the first glance, the first protest, the first fall, the first triumph."

The further good news is that proceeds from the sale, in part, directly benefit the artists and support Aperture’s non-profit publishing and educational programming.

The image of James Dean by Dennis Stock, taken in New York City in 1955, shows the actor "withdrawn and timid-looking. East of Eden had just opened at the Astor theater after a celebrity studded preview. Jimmy neither attended the previews nor the opening - 'I can’t handle that scene' - so he boarded a plane and flew back to Los Angeles."

Another highlight is Philippe Halsman’s wonderfully joyous snap of French actor Brigitte Bardot leaping into the air. It was shot in Saint-Tropez, France, in 1955. This print, like all the others available to buy online, is estate-stamped on an archival label to ensure quality and preservation, which is affixed to the back of the print.

Other 6 x 6 prints include Danny Clinch’s shot of Bruce Springsteen, Martin Parr’s Friday nighters, Robert Capa’s teenagers on a film set, and Raymond Depardon’s bubble-gum blowers.

If you are interested in acquiring any of the 100 or so images in this sale - Exploring the Essence of Youth - you will need to do so by 26 October, when the opportunity ends.
