Surprise New Car for Janitor

Robert Reed, 60, works as a janitor at the Farmington Elementary School Tennessee. For years, no one knew that Robert had to take three buses and walk two miles to make it on time to work.

When they noticed, his colleagues, and the children’s parents, decided to help him out. They started a GoFundMe to buy Robert a new truck.

“His work ethic is unbelievable,” Elizabeth Malone, one of the teachers commented, “and we want our kids to pick up on that, not only to have a good work ethic, but also if you see someone in need, try to help. It’s important to do that.”

Robert is known as being an incredibly hard worker who literally seeks out extra jobs around the school even after he has finished with his janitorial duties. He's always looking to lend a hand and always has a smile on his face.

Everyone at Farmington agrees that "Mr. Robert adds a little sunshine to our school."

The GoFundMe for Robert had a goal of $10,000, but ended up raising $49,645, smashing the initial goal. “I love these people up here,” Robert commented. “I love them. I couldn’t have made it without them. Yes, it’s a joy to work here. Pure joy.”
