It's another brilliantly quirky marketing campaign from Iceland. The premise is: “We want to prove that even the worst photographer can take great photos of Iceland. Is that you?”

It’s an interesting idea - find someone who takes bad pictures and Icelandair will use that to show that Iceland is still incredible despite bad photography. Despite appearances to the contrary, this is not an April Fools joke. Awful photographers just have to answer six simple questions and, says Icelandair: "if you really want to stand out, upload a short video telling us about your best (worst!) photo fails."

Will your bad photos finally pay off? This opportunity includes a 10-day trip to Iceland, with travel expenses covered, plus US$50,000 for photographs, content, and participation. Your photos may appear in a global campaign, so there’s a chance for some fame, too.

Applications are open until 30 April 2026.

OGN has spotted several other quirky promotions coming out of Iceland in recent years. Mostly in the form of videos from the country's tourism office. Such as:

OutHorse Your Email: "jKwttFqnzgmsrqaaaaa...." For a relaxing vacation, let Iceland's horses take care of work emails for you.

Looks Like You Need to Let it Out: Iceland is the perfect place.
