Aston Martin built 60 Goldfinger 007 Edition cars in 2024 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Goldfinger, which marked the on-screen debut of the DB5.

The DB12 put up for auction is chassis 0/60 - a car reserved for EON Productions, the long-standing Bond filmmaking company led by Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli. With all 60 customer cars selling out immediately, chassis 0/60 has become the first to be offered on the open market.

Amazon MGM Studios put the car up for auction by Christie’s earlier this month, with an estimated value of between £200,000 and £300,000. In the end, the rare motoring beast achieved a whopping £571,500 ($763,000) with proceeds divided equally between four charities selected by Wilson and Broccoli: Into Film, the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, the London Screen Academy and UK Time’s Up.

Chassis 0/60 is a UK-spec, right-hand drive car that, like all Goldfinger 007 Editions, carries numerous Bond-inspired details, from Silver Birch paintwork echoing Bond’s DB5 to bespoke anniversary badging. Inside, 18-carat gold-plated accents and commemorative plaques accompany Sports Plus seats trimmed with a Prince of Wales check perforation pattern referencing the suit Bond wears in the 1964 film.

The movie also starred Honor Blackman as Pussy Galore, and was a financial success, recouping its budget in two weeks and grossing over $120 million worldwide.

When Amazon purchased MGM Studios in 2022 it didn't acquire the 007 franchise outright but gained control; it then secured full creative control through a separate deal in February 2025, forming a joint venture with producers Broccoli and Wilson to steer the franchise's future.
