It’s not every day that a song from the early 1960s takes social media by storm - but that’s exactly what’s happening with Connie Francis’s classic Pretty Little Baby.

Originally released in 1962, the nostalgic tune has found new life online, with millions of TikTok users using it in their videos - introducing an entire new generation to the voice of one of the most popular singers of yesteryear. Connie Francis, now in her 80s, is one of America’s most celebrated female vocalists, known for hits like Where the Boys Are and Stupid Cupid. But nothing could have prepared her for the recent wave of attention her decades-old recording is receiving.

Pretty Little Baby has now made its way up streaming platforms too, surpassing 14 million global streams and breaking into Spotify’s Top 100 this week. All thanks to TikTok. This unexpected turn of events was first brought to her attention by Ron Roberts, President and Creative Director of her record label. Connie shared her reaction in a Facebook post:

“Thank you Ron for posting this link. My thanks to TikTok and its members for the wonderful, and oh so unexpected, reception given to my 1961 recording 'Pretty Little Baby'. The first I learned of it was when Ron called to advise me that I had 'a viral hit'. Clearly out of touch with present day music statistics terminology, my initial response was to ask: 'What's that?' Thank you everyone!”

“I recorded that song 63 years ago and to know that an entire new generation now knows who I am, and my music is thrilling for me. Thank you so much everybody, thank you TikTok.”

If you weren't around in the 60s or your not a TikToker, here's the song...
