Chronicles of Narnia
Fans are one step closer to Greta Gerwig's big-screen Chronicles of Narnia adaptation. The enchanted world from C.S. Lewis' beloved children's books will come to life in cinemas in February 2027, then on Netflix a couple of months later. The adaptation also has a title: Narnia: The Magician's Nephew. Meryl Streep, Daniel Craig, Carey Mulligan, Emma Mackey and Denise Gough are among the actors appearing in the first instalment. Indications are that this will be the most expensive movie that Netflix has ever made at more than $320 million.
Lyme Vaccine
Scientists are confident they've got the first effective Lyme disease vaccine, but the final hurdle will be US FDA approval - which the drug-makers are seeking despite unexpected statistical issues. It remains to be seen if this will derail their goals. Pfizer, the drug-maker, is hoping regulatory bodies focus on the vaccine's efficacy, which was found to be more than 70 percent.

Happy Birthday
It's Sir David Attenborough’s 100th birthday today and, to mark the occasion, a slate of new shows are featuring alongside beloved landmark series in a week-long celebration of the ever-youthful Sir David's work and legacy on the BBC. What an extraordinary life he must have had. There will also be a star-studded event at London’s Royal Albert Hall tonight. If you are not on the coveted guest list or don't have access to BBC TV, OGN suggests you might like to watch What a Wonderful World - Attenborough's heartwarming version of the Satchmo classic.
World's First Capital
As of now, advertising for high-carbon products and services, like flights, petrol and diesel vehicles, gas heating contracts, and meat products, will be prohibited in all public spaces in Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands. One of the law’s backers was Creatives for Climate, a global network of advertising professionals, which summarised it well: “Advertising doesn’t just sell products, it grants social license … promoting fossil fuels undermines climate action and public trust.”

Route 66
To celebrate the centenary of its opening, the U.S. Postal Service is releasing eight stamps marking significant parts of the road in each of the states it traverses, passing by vintage diners, gas stations and motels - many since preserved or restored - along with breathtaking vistas and wide horizons of the open road. Route 66 is paved with history, from its early days as an escape from the Dust Bowl and the Great Depression, through serving as a vital supply route during World War II, to its mid-century role as an antidote for wanderlust. A symbol of freedom and mobility, it has evolved into a time capsule of Americana, steeped in nostalgia and neon.

Ocean Charger
Poseidon is probably still getting used to our growth from wooden boats to enormous cruise ships. Imagine his shock when he sees electric boats casually pulling up to recharge right in the middle of his abode, thanks to a new offshore charging system. Engineers at a Norwegian research organization have created a “plug and play” charging system that allows electric vessels to charge at sea via a magnetic field. This inductive technology replaces traditional physical plugs that are highly susceptible to corrosion and wear from saltwater and algae. The charging system is the latest breakthrough in the Ocean Charger project, a collaborative initiative led by shipbuilding company Vard and a consortium of green-energy maritime partners.
