  • Good news for night sky watchers: The Perseid meteor shower is about to peak. For the next week or so, if you head outside after sunset and it happens to be a clear night, look up. The sky will be putting on its stunning annual Perseids show.

  • Australia: Family couldn't pay their rent but instead of evicting them, their landlord let them off and gave them money for urgent expenses, saying "I would want someone to do the same for me."

  • US: Teen wins first prize of $250,000 in Science Talent competition for her harvest prediction tool that could help prevent starvation in Africa.

  • Ireland: The country just made their contact tracing app - the world's most successful - open source. The move will allow countries around the world to build their own app based on Ireland’s Covid Tracker source code.

  • Canada: An outdoorsman (as they say in Canada) befriended the most adorable adventure companion when he rescued a drowning coyote pup during a 10 day rafting trip.

  • Facebook bans troll farm running fake pro-Trump accounts like ‘BlackPeopleVoteForTrump’. The less fake news the better!
