Balls: Part of the longest partnership in sporting goods history, Slazenger has been the Official Supplier of tennis balls to The Championships since 1902. Yellow balls used for first time in 1986. 55,000 used during The Championships period. New balls after first seven games (to allow for warm-up), then after every nine games.

Strawberries & Cream: It's expected that around 200,000 portions of strawberries and cream (at £2.70 each) were enjoyed by spectators this year. This translates to roughly 1.9 million individual strawberries and 7,000 litres of cream consumed over the course of the tournament. The tradition of strawberries and cream at Wimbledon dates back to the tournament's inception.

Player Clothing: Since 1963, Wimbledon Championship Entry Conditions laid down that competitors must be dressed predominantly in white throughout. In 1995 this Condition was clarified to mean ‘almost entirely white’. In 2023 the rule was amended to allow female players to wear dark-coloured undershorts. Why Wimbledon has White Attire Rules.

Royal Box Dress Code: Male attendees must wear a suit or jacket with a tie. In contrast to other formal occasions, women are asked not to wear hats in order not to block anyone's view. The Royal Box, which seats 74 people at the south end of Centre Court, is reserved each day for members of the Royal Family and a host of illustrious guests invited by the Club Chair.

Player Numbers: Today, the tournament is made up of 128 men and 128 women, featuring men’s and women’s singles and doubles, as well as mixed doubles tournaments. The men’s singles and women’s singles are the most watched of the tournament, the finals of which are held on the Centre Court with a crowd of almost 15,000 in attendance.

Prize Money: Wimbledon 2025, the 138th edition of the Championships, has a record £53.5 million in prize money being awarded, with the men's and women's singles champions each receiving £3 million.
